BA (Hons) Person-Centred Humanistic Counselling – 2:1

My undergraduate training was grounded in Person-Centred Humanistic Counselling, founded by Carl Rogers, whose philosophy continues to form the core of my therapeutic work. This approach emphasises empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity, creating a safe and non-judgemental space in which clients can explore their experiences and move towards growth and self-understanding. These principles remain the essence of my counselling skills and inform my integrative practice today.

Master of Music (MMus)

My Master of Music explored the critical, educational, and psychological dimensions of music, with advanced training in musical analysis and composition. I specialised in Dream Composition, examining the relationship between inner experience, imagination, and musical expression. This work deepened my understanding of how music can reflect emotional worlds, unconscious material, and personal narrative—foundations that now inform my therapeutic and creative practice.

Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) Training

I have completed Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training, strengthening my ability to work safely, ethically, and responsibly with children and young people. This training supports my work across community settings and therapeutic practice, ensuring safeguarding is embedded in all aspects of Meltopia Therapy.

The training covers recognising signs of abuse or neglect, understanding statutory safeguarding responsibilities, responding appropriately to disclosures, maintaining professional boundaries, and working in line with current safeguarding legislation and best practice. It enables me to create safe, structured, and transparent therapeutic and creative spaces where the welfare of children and young people is always prioritised.
